Ashley Wallen



Originally from the Gold Coast in Queensland, Australia, Ashley Wallen started training as a dancer in all styles at the age of 12 before landing his first big break as a dancer in Kylie Minogue's 'Intimate and Live Tour' of Australia and the UK at the age of 17. He went on years later to appear with Kylie on her 'On a Night like This Tour' in Sydney, Australia and then to choreograph her 'Love Kylie' Underwear launch in Melbourne. He most recently appeared in and choreographed her Greatest Hits TV campaign in 2005 for the UK and Europe.

Ashley has also appeared in numerous musicals including Fame, Sisterella, and Footloose. In 2000 Ashley, was chosen to appear in Baz Lurhmans musical movie Moulin Rouge. Being one of the main dancers, he was fortunate enough to work alongside Nicole Kidman. Ashley also went on to dance in films Scooby Doo, Phantom of the Opera and to choreograph the Australian film Josh Jarman.

Since arriving in London, Ashley has toured with Atomic Kitten's 'Greatest Hits Arena Tour', Blue's 'Greatest Hits' UK and Europe Arena Tour, and also danced in and choreographed Will Young's 'Winter Arena Tour' and his 2006 'Keep On' Arena Tour. Ashley has been able to work with Will Young for the past four years choreographing his award winning video "Your Game." Working with Will Young gave Ashley the opportunity to team up with well known director Michael Gracey to choreograph Charlotte Church's video "Call My Name", Sugababes "Shape of My Heart", Alesha Dixon's "The Boy Does Nothing" and Gabriella Cilmi's "On a Mission."

Ashley has also choreographed many major award winning advertising campaigns. These campaigns include the 2009 Christmas campaign for GAP in the U.S, the most watched advertisement on youtube, Evian Rollerbabies, and the T-mobile dance in Liverpool street station with a cast of 400 dancers. T-mobile lead to Ashley being asked to work with the Black Eyed Peas on a surprise for Oprah Winfrey and her 24th season kick off party show to create the worlds largest flashmob in Chicago to their hit song "I Gotta a Feeling". More recently, Ashley was able to work closely with Hugh Jackman for the all of the dancing campaigns for Lipton's Iced Tea and also Mcains Oven chips with a cast of 50 dancers.

As a choreographer, Ashley has a very distinct style by blending the old with new in his diverse collection of work. From doing MGM inspired commercials and videos to working with UK R&B star Jamelia on her last two albums for her TV and live performances, and soul singer Lemar. He successfully combined those two artists for an unforgettable performance at the 25th anniversary Brit Awards.

Ashley has had the pleasure of choreographing many of the UK's top artists including Dannii Minogue, Rachael Stevens ,Brian McFadden ,James Morrison ,Leona Lewis and dancing with major international artists such as Victoria Beckham, Mariah Carey ,Emma Bunton and many more. In 2006, Ashley appeared on and choreographed ITV's show 'It's Now or Never' and was choreographer for ITV's hit show 'X Factor'. He also worked on BBC1's 'DanceX' working alongside world renowned choreographer Arlene Phillips where he appeared on screen as a judge and mentor.

Ashley teamed up with director William baker to choreograph the West End Musical 'Rent' remixed, and most recently the highly successful Burlesque show Polly Rae and the all new Hurly Burly show. Ashley previously worked Madonna as associate choreographer for her directorial debut film, W.E, and also on the hit comedy film 'Friends with Benefits" starring Justin Timberlake and Mila Kunis.  Most recently Ashley choreographed for ABC's upcoming musical comedy "Galavant."
