Denna Thomsen is a maverick performer, choreographer, and artist whose work will next be seen in HBO’s UNITLED LAKERS PROJECT, ANGELYNE starring Emmy Rossum, Netflix’s Marilyn Monroe biopic BLONDE starring Ana de Armas, and Olivia Wilde’s feature DON’T WORRY DARLING starring Florence Pugh and Harry Styles.

Denna’s other credits include BOOKSMART, BIRDS OF PREY, PERRY MASON, EUPHORIA, TRANSPARENT, and THE OA. In the commercial world, Denna recently choreographed Moschino’s Spring 2022 Fashion Film LIGHTENING STRIKES with Director and Designer Jeremy Scott. Other notable commercial credits include the widely popular Apple holiday commercial “Sway” and commercials for KFC, Sonos Speakers, Jockey, Volkswagen, Converse, Warby Parker, Target, and Google. For her work in commercials, Denna was recognized in 2020 by the World Choreography Awards for best choreography in a commercial for Reebok’s “Storm the Court” Campaign.

Denna formally assisted internationally renowned choreographer Ryan Heffington and those collaborations have included working with artists and directors including Spike Jonze, SIA, Florence and the Machine, Alma Ha’rel, Vincent Haycock, Daniel Askill, Floria Sigismondi, and Martin de Thurah, among others.

Denna is the co-founder of AXIOM Dance Theatre, which utilizes various aspects of theater and stagecraft to push the boundary with the dancers she’s creating on and the audience watching. Her choreography is known for its strong sense of narrative, leading with emotion, and breaking the norm. Originally from Nebraska, Denna received a BA from Colorado State University and moved to Los Angeles in 2007.
