JOHN CARRAFA believes great choreography comes from great collaboration.
As a result, he's collaborated with some of the most highly regarded directors, actors, dancers, stunt coordinators, composers and editors working today. Steven Soderbergh, Adam Mckay, Lee Daniels, Robert Zemeckis, Robert DeNiro, Emma Stone, Tom Hanks, Will Farrell, Elizabeth Moss, Melissa McCarthy, Jennifer Hudson, Robert Fairchild, Christina Aguilera, Sara Bareilles, Tom Stoppard and Stephen Sondheim are just a few examples of the diverse group of artists he’s had the privilege of working beside.
Dividing his time equally between Hollywood and Broadway, he’s received two Tony Nominations, an Obie, Lortel, Dora Awards, Drama Desk Nomination and Outer Critics Circle Nomination for his work in the theater and the World Dance and the Media Choreography Awards for his choreography in television and film. He recently made his episodic television directing debut on the show NASHVILLE.
Upcoming, his choreography will be seen in the 1922 period drama THE CHAPERONE written by Julian Fellowes, Season 2 of BARRY with Bill Heder, the SYFY series HAPPY! with Ann-Margret and Christopher Meloni, the crime drama 21 BRIDGES starring Chadwick Boseman and THE KITCHEN with Melissa McCarthy, Elisabeth Moss, and Tiffany Haddish.
