Alyson Van

Alyson Van is a southern California native with an extensive history in both the commercial industry and concert dance scene, booking numerous national commercials and music videos alike by the age of 16 while attending the Orange County School of the Arts and later the Los Angeles County High School for the Arts. She has worked with New York based contemporary dance companies LeeSaar the Company, Danielle Russo Performance Project, and Naganuma Dance and can be seen in television spots and music videos for the likes of Natasha Bedingfield, OneRepublic, Tarzan 2, Warner Brothers, Apple, Bratz Princesses, Walmart, K-Mart, Best Buy, Exxon Mobil, and Reese's Puffs Cereal, as well as on tour as a dancer with music artist Grimes and as a dancer + dance captain for Lorde. Her choreographic work, Much Love, AFIA, was the recipient of the 2013 Stewart Prize in Choreography from the University of California, San Diego and she co-choreographed Grimes' "Acid Reign" world tour. Alyson additionally was the rehearsal director for the 2013 and 2014 seasons of New York based second company, Naganuma 2, and is currently an Artistic Advisor to the non-profit organization, Future Shock Los Angeles. Alyson is trained in contemporary, hip hop, tap, house, contact improvisation, somatic techniques, ballet, modern, jazz, locking, whacking, and dance theater methodologies. She is a summa cum laude graduate of UC San Diego with a bachelor's in Dance and minor in Psychology.
