Kate Lin

Kate is a 13 year old triple threat from Orange County California. Her parents enrolled her in her first dance class at the age of 6, just so that she can use up all her tireless energy. This lead to her first love of dance. Kate does the styles of jazz, jazz-funk, hip hop, contemporary, lyrical, musical theater, acro, tap, ballet, and modern. Her favorite style of dance is jazz-funk because it shows the technical side of her and the groovy funky side of her. Throughout her years of dance experience Kate has gotten many scholarships from conventions like Velocity, Art of Movement, Radix, Revel, Tremaine, Hollywood Vibe, NYCDA (New York City Dance Alliance), Nuvo, and Jump. When Kate was 9 years old, she took her first voice lesson. She began with simple musical theater songs and found her spot as a soprano, and began singing pop. Kate’s love for singing and acting really took flight after BLOC sent her to New York for an audition for Young Nala in The Lion King on Broadway. She made it to the last round, but even though she didn’t get the part, it came to her senses that she was not just a dancer, singer, and actor, but a performer! Kate’s first big dance job was 2016 Clipper Kids. One of Kate’s favorite jobs she did was co-staring in Nicky, Ricky, Dicky, and Dawn’s episode of “The Wonderful Wizard of Quads†and was playing the part of Spinny. The biggest job Kate has done was a movie she filmed during the summer of 2017, called “Home Invaders†directed by John Murlowski. Right after that, she filmed Lip Sync Battle Shorties on Nickelodeon. Kate had the best crew to work with and loved meeting new people along the way. Now, Kate is two years in OCSA (Orange County School of the Arts) in the Musical Theater conservatory, and a Cre8 Principal- Duet at Pave School of the Arts.
