Aakomon “AJ” Jones has built a name for himself as the choreographer of the PITCH PERFECT franchise and blockbuster films such as BLACK PANTHER, WORK IT, THE HIGH NOTE, QUEEN & SLIM, LIKE A BOSS, STEP SISTERS, SENIOR YEAR starring Rebel Wilson. He is currently the Creative Advisor for Usher’s Las Vegas Residency at Caesar’s Palace. His upcoming projects include BLACK PANTHER 2 WAKANDA FOREVER.

AJ’s film work includes Ang Lee’s BILLY LYNN’S LONG HALFTIME WALK, HOW TO BE SINGLE, and the James Brown biopic GET ON UP. AJ’s experience and unique talent has also led him to work with an impressive group of filmmakers and actors in movies such as THE RUM DIARY, NIGHTS OF RODANTHE, CENTER STAGE 2: TURN IT UP and DREAMGIRLS. His extensive television credits include FX’s DAVE, PERFECT HARMONY, SUPER FUN NIGHT, DANCING WITH THE STARS, COMMUNITY, and THE VOICE. His collaborations with HBO have included WATCHMEN, LOVECRAFT COUNTRY, and VINYL directed by Martin Scorsese.

AJ’s many commercials include REMY MARTIN, KOHL’S, BURGER KING, MERCEDES, LUMIFY, PEPSI, NINTENDO, LINCOLN, XFINITY, MACY’S, BOSE, SAMSUNG, MICROSOFT, NISSAN, and COACH.

A Decatur, Georgia native, AJ began his career developing artists in Atlanta’s music scene. After establishing himself as a respected dancer, AJ then received his first big break as a choreographer working with the R&B group 112. He has since segued into Creative Directing and Choreographing for the world’s biggest music artists including Usher, Alicia Keys, Madonna, Justin Bieber, Jennifer Lopez, Jason Derulo, Faith Hill, Will Smith, Janelle Monae, Kelly Rowland, Mariah Carey, The Backstreet Boys, Aaliyah, Justin Timberlake, Hailee Steinfeld, and more.

AJ is unmistakably one of today’s most in-demand choreographers and creative directors for film, television, commercials, and live tours.  His choreography can best be described by the clean lines, musicality, sharpness, and versatility that he brings to the forefront of all his projects.
