Originally from Canada, Kandis cultivated her love of performing at a young age. She started dancing at the age of 5, and has pursued it ever since. After being accepted into the classical program at the Edmonton School of Ballet at age 15, things really started to come together for Kandis. She quickly became a standout at ESB where she developed and honed sound technical skills and a knack for movement and choreography. Throughout her formative years, Kandis balanced academics and dance, working and performing on stages across her native Canada including stints with the Royal Winnipeg Ballet, Edmonton Contemporary Dancers, Edmonton Festival Ballet, and the Banff Arts Festival. She also was featured in the 8th IAAF World Track and Field Championships Opening Ceremonies as a principal dancer. Following high school, Kandis enrolled at the University of Alberta to pursue a career in medicine. However, after a year, she seized the opportunity to train as a scholarship recipient at the EDGE Performing Arts Center in Hollywood.
Now residing in Los Angeles and signed to Bloc Talent Agency, Kandis has worked with some of the entertainment industry’s top directors, choreographers and artists. Kandis spent three years gracing the stage of the Colosseum at Caesar’s Palace in Las Vegas as a featured dancer in Bette Midler’s critically acclaimed The Showgirl must Go On, choreographed by Toni Basil. Kandis has appeared in music videos for artists including Destiny’s Child, Queens of the Stones Age, Silversun Pickups and Ellie Goulding to name a few. Kandis also performed with the Los Angeles based dance troupe Hysterica, appeared in numerous pieces at the Choreographer’s Carnival, and was a core member of the groundbreaking Target Kaleidoscopic Spectacular in New York City, choreographed by Ryan Heffington. Kandis has performed as a company member of the cabaret show Rouge, and also as a principal dancer in the hit show Cirque Berzerk at Club Nokia/LA Live choreographed by the Tony-nominated John Carrafa.
Kandis’ smiling face and fierce high-leg kicks have made numerous television appearances, including Ellen, the Oprah Winfrey Show, The View, Cinemax, HBO, NBC, ABC, Entertainment Tonight and Good Morning America. Additionally, Kandis performed as a featured dancer to the incomparable Prince Poppycock on the hit show America’s Got Talent choreographed by Chris Dupré and Tucker Barkley and directed by the famed Brian Friedman. Kandis has also appeared in the feature film The Social Network directed by David Fincher, and A Very Harold and Kumar Christmas in 3d. Kandis’ talents extend beyond the realm of dance, and into acting. She is pursuing her acting career on film, television and stage with the same zest and success she has already had as a dancer. She has trained with renowned acting coaches Lesly Kahn, Annie Grindlay, Margie Haber, Saxon Trainor and Mike Rose (Groundlings), in addition to completing several on camera commercial, improv and audition workshops
When not working the camera, or performing on stage Kandis enjoys food, wine, fashion, the outdoors and yoga. She is also currently in the process of becoming a certified Pilates instructor. She has an appreciation for all forms of art and culture and is blessed with a keen eye for design.
