Marcus

Marcus was born and raised in Hickory, North Carolina and from an early age, they were sliding across the floor, singing songs, spitting jokes, and rhymes that kept everyone on their feet. Marcus was a self-taught performer before later deciding to train at Sonya’s Dance Academy in the latter half of high school. They grew up performing in church, high school, and at a local community theater where they soon started choreographing large productions such as Dreamgirls, Ragtime & Mamma Mia at the age of 16. Turning hobbies into passions, they moved to Los Angeles after graduating high school to continue their pursuit to the stars. They are currently studying for their BFA in Contemporary Musical Theatre & Film at Hussian College Los Angeles. Last seen on tour across America with The Prom, where they played “Kevin” in the ensemble and was the 2nd black actor to understudy the principal role, “Trent Oliver.” Marcus also recently co-directed, produced, and starred in Once On This Island performed at the El Portal Theatre in North Hollywood. As a performer and multi-disciplinary artist, Marcus wants to create inspirational work on stage and screen that redefines what it means to be human.
